I think they are. What do I get for paying toll everyday?

Now I have to pay an extra RM50 for each credit card. For what?

Extra GST (goods and services tax). Again, how does that benefit me?

Look at the long list:

I have to pay for security guards because the police are hopeless.
I have to install filters because the water supply is dirty.
I have to watch satellite tv because the government broadcasts crap.

Many kids have to go for tuition or to private schools because the government schools are bad.
We have to pay IPPs (independent power providers) because the government cannot provide consistent electricity.

We have to pay Indah Water to clean up the sewers.
We have to pay tax on foreign cars because Mahathir wants to keep his dying local car industry alive. ON top of it APs cost bcoz of his cronies.
Most have to drive because the government cannot provide good public transport.

We have to pay to sustain the government's affirmative action policies.
We have to pay for private health care because the public hospitals are crowded .

All in all, we have to pay a PREMIUM to stay in this country!

Press Statement By DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng In George Town on 16 July 20009

DAP condemns the mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock in the MACC Selangor HQ in Shah Alam today. The MACC must bear full responsibility for this death as Teoh was in the custody of MACC when he fell from the 14th Floor of the Selangor MACC building.

MACC should stop its political persecution of PR, especially DAP leaders and members, that does not serve the interest of fighting corruption or justice. Such political games have caused the loss of LIFE OF A bright young idealistic DAP member.

There must be a full investigation on how he died. Unless MACC can clear its name, the public may suspect that Teoh was mistreated and MACC had a hand in his sudden death. There must be full transparency and accountability. DAP extends its condolences to Teoh’s family for this tragic loss and assures them that all steps will be taken to ensure that the culprits or those responsible be punished.

Isu Kg Buah Pala hari ini mempunyai satu perkembangan yang positif. Pengerusi Persatuan Penduduk Kg Buah Pala M Sugumaran telah berjumpa dengan Ketua Menteri Lim Guan Eng dan menyatakan kesanggupan untuk berbincang dengan Kerajaan Negeri bagi mencapai penyelesaian masalah penjualan tanah kampung mereka.

M Sugumaran turut memohon maaf daripada Kerajaan Negeri kerana sebelum ini telah bertindak untuk mengheboh-hebohkan perkara ini dan juga menentang keperibadian sesetengah pemimpin. Ketua Menteri menyatakan bahawa Kerajaan Negeri sentiasa membuka pintu untuk berjumpa dan berbincang dengan penduduk kampung tanpa menglibatkan anasir-anasir dari luar yang sebelum ini cuba merosakkan niat baik Kerajaan Negeri untuk membantu penduduk.

A heart-to-heart talk may be on the cards between villagers and the Penang chief minister to resolve the future of Kampung Buah Pala, dubbed the 'Tamil High Chaparral'.

Residents Association chairperson M Sugumaran has agreed to take the villagers to meet Lim Guan Eng at 8.30pm on Thursday.

However, Sugumaran's overture violates the agreement among villagers, that they will not discuss the on-going crisis with state government leaders, without prior consent from the association committee.

This casts doubt on support for the dialogue, unless he is able to coax them to accept the arrangements he has made.

Sugumaran has given his word to Lim that the villagers will not bring their lawyer, Darshan Singh Khaira, to avoid a repeat of the impasse that led to an initial meeting being aborted last Wednesday.

He has also apologised on the villagers' behalf to Lim “for blowing up the issue and resorting to personal attacks on government leaders”.

He met Lim briefly during a break at a state awards ceremony in Dewan Sri Pinang at 1.30pm today. Also present were Deputy Chief Minister 1 P Ramasamy and Seri Delima assemblyperson RSN Rayer

At a brief press conference afterwards, Lim told journalists that he has accepted Sugumaran's apology and is looking forward to the dialogue with the villagers.

The DAP-led state government has been against the presence of Darshan ever since the villagers appointed him their legal representative early this month.

Kampung Buah Pala villagers face eviction after Aug 3 as the site of their settlement is to be used for a luxury condominium project called Oasis. The developer Nusmetro Venture (P) Sdn Bhd issued a notice of eviction on July 2.

Breach of gag order

It is learnt that today's meeting between Sugumaran and Lim was held without prior consent from committee-members of the association and the villagers.

Sugumaran is expected to call an emergency meeting with the villagers to explain the situation.

However, he is expected to run into criticism from association secretary Stephen J Draviam and assistant secretary C Tharmaraj, among others, for breaking their self-imposed gag order.

Kampung Buah Pala is the last remaining Indian traditional village in the state, with its origins said to date back some 200 years.

Many civil societies groups, including Penang Heritage Trust, Hindu Rights Action Force, Oppressed People's Network (Jerit) and Suaram want the village to be preserved

11/07/2001 – Permohonan dikemukakan oleh Koperasi Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang untuk membeli tanah seluas 6.5 ekar. Lesen Pendudukan Sementara (TOL) telah dikeluarkan kepada 30 penama dan terdapat 43 buah rumah di tanah tersebut.

16/07/2001 – Kertas Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan menyampaikan kertas cadangan permohonan membeli tanah kepada Pejabat Tanah dan Galian. Permohonan telah ditolak kerana dua permohonan serupa sebelum ini ditolak.

01/09/2002 – Jawatankuasa Tanah memperaku untuk meluluskan permohonan oleh pihak Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang, menyatakan sebab pemohon adalah koperasi.

11/12/2002 – Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan (EXCO) Negeri menangguhkan keputusan untuk menjual tanah tersebut. Ketua Menteri ketika itu Tan Sri Dr.Koh Tsu Koon meminta MMK (EXCO) mempertimbangan untuk memberi kelulusan kepada permohonan tersebut berdasarkan cadangan yang dikemukakan. Cadangan pembangunan yang dikemukakan adalah untuk membina Pangsapuri 247 unit – Kos Rendah, Pangsapuri 400 unit – Kos Sederhana, dan 12 Unit kedai.

18/08/2004 – Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan (EXCO) Negeri Pulau Pinang meluluskan permohonan oleh Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang untuk membeli tanah tersebut.

08/06/2005 – Majlis Mesyuarat Kerajaan (EXCO) Negeri Pulau Pinang lagi sekali telah meluluskan permohonan untuk membeli tanah tersebut oleh Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang.

12/07/2005 – Harga penjualan tanah ditetapkan sebanyak RM 6..42 juta. Pihak Koperasi membuat rayuan untuk mengurangkan premium sebanyak 50%.

09/04/2006 – Ketua Menteri Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon menyatakan penjualan tanah tersebut adalah sebagai ganti untuk sebuah bangunan di sebelah Dewan Sri Pinang, dan menyatakan persetujuan beliau untuk memberikan diskaun sebanyak 50% ke atas premium yang asalnya bernilai RM 6.42 juta. Dengan pemberian diskaun sebanyak 50%, maka kadar premium bagi luas sekaki persegi ialah RM 10. Ianya adalah terlalu murah untuk tanah yang berada di kawasan prima.

Cadangan Pampasan kepada penduduk yang dikemukakan oleh Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang seperti berikut :-

1 rumah kos rendah yang bernilai RM 17,000
Subsidi Sewa Rumah sebanyak RM 750 selama 36 bulan

25/04/2007 – Timbalan Ketua Menteri, Dato Seri Abdul Rashid Abdullah menyatakan tawaran pampasan yang dibuat oleh Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang adalah jauh lebih baik dari garis panduan yang ditetapkan oleh kerajaan negeri dan mencadangkan tanah dijual pada harga RM 3.21 juta.

Oktober 2007 – Notis Pengeluaran telah dikeluarkan.

11/10/2007 – 14 buah rumah telah dirobohkan setelah pemilik-pemilik tersebut menerima tawaran yang telah dibuat oleh pihak Koperasi.

14/03/2008 – Koperasi Pegawai Kanan Kerajaan Pulau Pinang menjelaskan tunggakan premium sebanyak RM 2,247,000. Surat hak milik pajakan selama 99 tahun telah dikeluarkan.

27/03/2008 - Surat hakmilik didaftarkan sebagai PT 59 HS (D) 15868 Bandar Gelugor, Daerah Timur Laut, Pulau pinang. Jenis hakmilik ialah Pajakan Negeri 99 tahun dan jenis kegunaan tanah adalah "bangunan".

Sejak 2008 juga, ADUN dan Kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat telah menghentikan perobohan Kg Buah Pala sebanyak LIMA (5) kali.

Lim still pursuing Johari?

An upset Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is said to be on a relentless pursuit to throw out PKR councillor Johari Kassim from Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP).

Sources said he had directed the state secretary, Zainal Rahim Seman, to issue written instructions to the MPSP president, Mokhtar Mohd Jait, to bar Johari from attending any council meetings.

The matter is now under the purview of the state executive councillor in charge of local government affairs and traffic management and also DAP state chief Chow Kon Yeow.

It is learnt that Zainal may issue the written directive to Mokhtar within the next few days.

Lim, also the DAP secretary-general, is determined to “teach Johari a lesson” for openly defying his decision to appoint Mokhtar to head MPSP early this month,

The chief minister is unhappy that PKR had refused to heed to his call to sack Johari as councillor.

Johari and seven other PKR councillors have boycotted Mokhtar’s swearing-in on June 4 in protest against the state government decision to appoint senior public officers to helm local municipalities.

Who is the boss?
The DAP-dominated Pakatan Rakyat state government has also appointed senior civil servant Tan Cheng Chui as the new Penang Island Municipal Council (MPPP) president.

Apart from Johari, the others were Che Mat Hashim, Amir Ghazali, Mahamad Hashim, Rynu Shanmugam, Goh Choon Aik, Mohd Kamil Abu Bakar and Zaini Awang.

The boycott has inevitably caused Lim a bruised ego, and he wants to show Johari “who’s the boss”.

For record, Johari has attended several council meetings since the controversy erupted early this month.

Lim’s unprecedented move to deploy administrative rule to punish Johari, however, is set to meet tough resistance from the state PKR.

During a meeting among state PKR’s parliamentarians, legislators and councillors on Friday, it is learnt that the state party leadership had decided to adopt a tough stance not to yield to DAP leadership demand to force Johari to resign as councillor.

Those at the meeting, despite having difference of opinions and views over the political controversy, decided anonymously to throw their weight around the embattled Johari, the state PKR and Tasek Gelugor division committee member.

State leaders also decided to inform, in unequivocal terms, to Lim soon that the controversy shall be best resolved through the Pakatan state council leadership.

PKR leaders defend Johari
A source said PKR leadership thought that Lim was wrong in trying to use an administrative rule to resolve a political problem.

“The leadership thought it should be resolved through a political forum,” said the PKR source.

PKR leaders are determined to defend Johari merely because he had only defied a state decision to protect the party interest.

The state leadership has decided not to take any action on Johari during a meeting held the next day after the Johari’s MPSP boycott.

Although the matter was referred to the party national political bureau, headed by deputy president Syed Husin Ali, albeit under pressure from Lim, the bureau also emulated the state stand.

Meanwhile, a portal blogspot has emerged to carry out a character assassination campaign on Johari, PKR state chief Zahrain Hashim, secretary Mustafa Kamal Mohd Yusoff and several other leaders.

Quoting its source of information is from Malaysiakini, the bloggers are carrying out a campaign in similar modus operandi executed so effectively on former Deputy Chief Minister 1 Fairus Khairuddin.

PKR leadership is now checking on the bloggers, believed to be party members linked to a state executive councillor.

Zahrain is now under intense internal pressure to quickly identify and take drastic action, including party membership termination, on these anonymous bloggers.

I was told the government through UEM has appointed Maunsall Zakaria Sharma as the submission structural consulting engineer for the Penang 2nd Bridge.

MZS was also the same consulting engineer for the MRR2 project which was later diagnosed with design error.

The repair and strengthening of MRR2 was said to have cost RM80 million and since it was attributed as design fault that contributed to the structural failure there exist a design guarantee bond, provided under the contractual terms, by the contractor and also a professional indemnity bond provided by the design engineer to cover and indemnify the government in such event.

Interestingly, it seems the government was gracious and forgiving, and disquietly forgetful too.

Walaupun mendakwa menerima ugutan melalui telefon, Aminah Abdullah tidak mudah mengundur. Beliau malah terus menyerang PKR dengan mendakwa pemimpin kanan parti ada isu di sebuah hotel.

Calon bebas itu menambah, Bernama melaporkan, beliau akan membongkar satu peristiwa yang dikaitkan dengan Pengerusi PKR Pulau Pinang, Datuk Zahrain Mohamed Hashim dalam masa terdekat.

"Saya nak ingatkan Zahrain supaya jangan mencabar saya. Saya nak tanya sama ada dia masih ingatkah lagi dengan peristiwa di sebuah hotel di Jawi pada 2007?" katanya, dikenali juga sebagai Kak Min.

"Kak Min minta dia jawab dalam tempoh 24 jam dan jika tidak, Kak Min akan dedahkan kepada umum. Maruah dibayar dengan maruah," Aminah dipetik berkata selepas berkempen mengedar posternya dengan simbol kunci menjelang pilihanraya kecil DUN Penanti, Ahad ini.

Menurut agensi berita itu, Aminah berkata beliau telah memaklumkan kes Zahrain, sekarang ahli parlimen Bayan Lepas, kepada penasihat parti Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dan presidennya Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

"Tapi tiada tindakan diambil. Saya ada faktanya," Aminah dilaporkan berkata.

Beliau diminta mengulas kenyataan Zahrain semalam bahawa PKR sedang menimbang tindakan undang-undang jika bekas pemimpinnya itu terus membuat pelbagai dakwaan terhadap parti itu.

Paris-based Agence Jouin Manku took on its first large-scale integrated architectural and interior design commission in 2003, when YTL Design Group from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, invited it to design the residence of a Malaysian power family.

Completed in the latter part of 2008, the residence is the ultimate expression of the taste, influence and industrial-scale capabilities of the prominent family whose entrepreneurial activities have shaped Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.

Three generations of the family inhabit the 3,000 square-meter residence designed to accommodate both private and public functions.

The building includes nine bedrooms, two family rooms, a family kitchen and a private dining area, a family library, a game room, a study, a public reception area, a formal dining room, a ballroom, chapel, 21 bathrooms, a swimming pool, two guest suites plus indoor private and guest parking.

The initial sketches exploring the owners’ usage requirements reveal resemblances to the boring stacked-boxes look still so ubiquitous in residential architecture. And while traces of the “heaped trailers” syndrome remain in the finished building, this is not the Jetsons, neither are we looking at EPCOT, Tomorrowland or the 1964 New York World's Fair.

We are in the lush vegetation of a posh Kuala Lumpur residential area, and in spite of the boxiness of the structure, an elegant circular softness manages to permeate the sightlines and key details of the building, making it an agreeable part of its landscape.

Inside, prominent examples of this curvilinear elegance include the amazing staircases resembling the inside of a shell when viewed from above, and the round ballroom chandelier of 13,000 custom-designed undulating petals of unglazed cast porcelain biscuit.

The curved walls both inside and out have a functional purpose of providing privacy and enclosing each function gently in its own space. The overall sweeping feel inside the spaces invites the viewer in and creates soft, arching vistas.

The concept consists of three layers: the base for public functions, the ring for guests and the private house for the family.

The inside of the magnificent residence is gorgeous with its high ceilings, large windows and abundance of light. White color and natural wood are dominant elements but they allow the view from the vast, mostly retractable, windows to remain the main visual attraction.

The residence is also a wonderful study of contrasts between inside and outside, private and public, traditional and ultra modern, man-made and natural.

YTL Design Group of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was the architect of record. The Agence Jouin Manku design team included Patrick Jouin, Sanjit Manku, Yann Brossier (architect), Richard Perron (designer). I just joined a global movement to free Burmese democracy leader and Nobel Peace prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi and 2,100 other political prisoners and I thought that you would want to get involved.

The only crime Aung San Suu Kyi and her fellow prisoners have committed was to peacefully call for democracy. Days before she was due to be released after 13 years of detention, the brutal regime has locked up again on trumped up charges. On May 14th, Aung San Suu Kyi was arrested and sent to jail to charged in connection with an American man who allegedly sneaked uninvited into the compound where she is being held in Yangon. The charges are absurd -- it is the Burmese military, now charging her with breach of house arrest, that are responsible for the security of the compound. They area pretext to keep her detained until after elections which are set for 2010.

The Burmese regime is renown for its vicious repression of any threat to full military control - thousands are in jail in inhumane conditions and denied any medical care, there are ongoing abuses of human rights, there is violent repression of ethnic groups, and over a million have been forced into refuge across the border.

Aung San Suu Kyi's is the greatest threat to the junta's hold on power. Her moral leadership of the democracy movement and the legacy of her landslide victory in 1990 elections means that she is the only figure who could face down the military in elections next year. She has been detained over and over again since 1988 -- under house arrest and allowed no contact with the outside world. But this scandalous new detention in the notorious Insein Prison without medical care could be very dangerous because she is seriously ill.

Sources say that the military regime is fearful of this unified and massive online call to the UN -- over 160 Burma exile and solidarity groups in 24 countries are participating in the campaign. And the Secretary General and key regional players that are looking to re-engage with the Burmese regime, can influence the fate of these prisoners. The Court of Appeal has granted a stay of execution on yesterday's High Court decision which recognised Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as the rightful Perak menteri besar.

This will put on hold the decision of the High Court pending an appeal by Perak BN Menteri Besar Zambry Abd Kadir.

This means that rival MB, Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, cannot dissolve the state assembly until the appeal has been heard. He has returned as the lawful MB for less than 20 hours.

Zambry filed his appeal this morning and the issue will be heard at a date to be set by the Court of Appeal.

The Court of Appeal decision has once again plunged Perak back in limbo with both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat fighting one another to claim power in the state.

Court of Appeal judge Ramly Mohd Ali had today heard the stay application on his own, departing from the usual three-member panel.

Such a departure is acceptable and has been done previously for various grounds.

Zambry's lawyers argued that the stay was important to stop Nizar from trying seek the approval of the Perak sultan to dissolve the state assembly.

His lead counsel, Cecil Abraham, added that if the dissolution was granted, Zambry's appeal would be academic.

Meanwhile, attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail, who was also in court today, supported the motion.

He argued that the suspension of state secretary and state legal advisor by Nizar late last night was illegal as these were federal appointments.

Court of Appeal decision made at 1pm

Nizar's lawyer, Sulaiman Abdullah, urged the court to fix an early date for appeal.

Counsel Cecil and Sunil Abraham represented Zambry, while Nizar was represented by Sulaiman, Ranjit Singh and Edmund Bon.

In addition to Gani, AG’s Chambers prosecution division chief Abdul Majid Hamzah was also in court.

BN and Umno lawyers, Hafarizam Harun and Firoz Hussein Ahmad Jamaluddin, are holding a watching brief.

Also in court were two PKR assemblypersons turned BN-friendly Independents - Mohd Osman Jailu (Changkat Jering) and Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (Behrang). Their defections had made it possible for BN to take over the Perak government.

After the decision, which was delivered at about 1pm, Hafarizam urged Nizar to vacate his office to allow Zambry to move it.

Sulaiman meanwhile said he had to take instructions from Nizar on what to do next.

Congratulations to Barisan Nasional government for taking over the state government of Perak using ur FUCKing BN way..

The BN state assemblymen and women with the help and guidance of the police managed to grab the State Assembly Speaker and drag him to a changing room to emasculate him and forcibly take over control of the state legislature.

Thereafter, they pronounced the taking over of the state legislature by appointing a new speaker and will now rule the state with the police force.

The episode clearly illustrate a democratic form of government and a peaceful ending for the Pakatan Rakyat government. In fact, the Regent of Perak was there to grace the occasion.

What is much more applauding is the enormous tasks of the police force and the riot police who manned the stateassembly building, ensuring that only those authorised and acceptable to them were allowed to enter the legislating forum. More importantly is that those who wear black are screen thoroughly and any terroristic elements were culled and incarcerated.

The Pakatan government had proven that they are not able to rule as civil servants would not cooperate with them and the police have always being suspicious of them, whether it is cow or cars, or chinadolls....hahaa.

The federal government legislative body must also learn to behave...!!!!!

Penang PKR to wrap up probe on leaders in four days.

The state PKR panel plans to wrap up its probe in three to four days claims that two senior party leaders here are involved with local quarry operators to cover up illegal activities in the state.

Panel chairman Abdul Halim Hussin, who is also the state state assembly speaker, said the panel which started its probe on Monday, would record statements from the two leaders.

“We are working on a fast track basis. Perhaps in three or four days, we will wrap up the probe,” he said when contacted.

Abdul Halim declined to elaborate.

PKR Youth executive council member Amizudin Ahmat, who made the allegations during a Seberang Prai Municipal Council meeting when he was a councillor, was the first to be called by the four-member panel.

One PKR state executive councillor denied that he was among the two leaders involved.
Another said that it was better for the investigations to take its course.

There are three PKR leaders in the state exco. They are Deputy Chief Minister I Mohamad Fairus Khairuddin, Abdul Malik Abdul Kassim and Law Choo Kiang.

Saya sangat terkejut dengan pendedahan oleh YB Ketua Pembangkang Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim dalam ucapan bahas belanjawan pagi tadi yang menyatakan bahawa gaji tahunan Pengerusi Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Bhd. (Syabas) adalah RM5.1 juta setahun.

Saya telah membuat perkiraan mudah dan memaklumkan kepada sidang Parlimen tadi bahawa dengan gaji RM5.1 juta setahun, perkiraannya menjadi saperti berikut:

Setahun - RM5.1juta
Sebulan - RM425,000-00
Sehari (8jam) - RM14,166-00
Sejam - RM1,770-00
Seminit - RM29-51

1. Kalau dibanding dengan gaji Speaker Parlimen @ RM18,000-00 sebulan, gaji setahun Pengerusi Syabas ini boleh menanggung YB Speaker selama 23 tahun;

2. Kalau dibanding dengan gaji/ elaun Ahli Parlimen @ RM12,500-00 sebulan, , ianya boleh menanggung 34 Ahli Parlimen tiap bulan;

3. Kalau disbanding dengan gaji anggota polis @ RM1,000-00 sebulan, ianya boleh menanggung 425 anggota polis tiap bulan atau bersamaan dengan 5 pangkalan Unit FRU;

Saya berpendapat sesuatu perlu dilakukan untuk memastikan tidak berlaku ketirisan atau kebocoran dalam pengurusan dan perbelanjaan syarikat awam.

Presiden Barack Obama sendiri apabila menilai syarikat yang perlu diberi bantuan telah memutuskan supaya ada siling bagi gaji/ pendapatan Pengerusi/ Pengarah Urusan syarikat-syarikat yang kadang-kadang adalah melampau.

Benarlah kata seorang pujangga besar islam, “bila aku ke Barat aku nampak Islam walaupun tiada Muslim, tetapi bila aku pulang ke Arab, aku tidak nampak Islam walaupun ramai Muslim”.

Islam mengajar kita supaya berhemah, berjimat dan sentiasa mengutamakan orang lain terutamanya kalau melibatkan rakyat miskin dan bawahan. Tetapi nampaknya Kerajaan Islam Hadhari Malaysia menepati apa yang disebut oleh pujangga Islam tersbut.

Choo Kok Wei is a UUM student that has been charget recently by UUCA. University and universities college act.

Background InformationA bus company in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) named Unic Symbol Business Sdn. Bhd. had released a notice about the upgrading of E-bus System and increment in bus fare starting on 17/01/09. Under the new system, two plans will be introduced:1. RM90 plan: Unlimited times of bus riding for the whole semester. But matric card can only be used once in 15 minutes to avoid students from sharing a matric card.2. RM22 plan: Contains 40 points, which means 40 bus rides. This is equal to RM0.55 per ride (one way). In this way, the bus fare has increased 37.5%, from RM0.40 to RM0.55 per ride (one way).Remaining credits for both plans cannot be transferred to the next semester.The news spread fast and students were unhappy with the changes made.

Choo Kok Wei and friends later launched an online petition for UUM students to gather support towards the bus issue.www.petitiononline.com/20090112/petition.html hours later the online petition was blocked by UUM after the petition received massive response from students.But it didn't end straight away, Kok Wei and friends manage to find a way to bypass the block and the petition spread wider by the minute.

Kok Wei then recieved call from the security department(UK) asking Kok Wei to go to UK's office for discussion.

UK demands Kok Wei to meet in a short notice, and when Kok Wei appeals for posponing of the meeting, but was rejected and threaten. Kok Wei at last attended the "discussion", which is an interrogation. During the interrogation irrelevant questions were asked.

when the petition reached 500 students on 19/01/09.

Kok Wei and friends met with Deputy Vice Chancellor and handed in a memorandum. Four demands have been raised:-

1. Maintain the bus fare at RM0.40 per point or reduce it to a rate lower than RM0.55 per point.
2. The remaining credit can be brought forward to the next semester.
3. University has to be transparency in the contract with UNIC and also other contracts in the future, so that students are able to supervise it.
4. Students are involved in any decision making that are concerning the benefits of the students.Deputy Vice Chancellor has agreed to reduce the bus fare to RM0.40 but university will review the rate from time to time. Remaining of the credits can be brought forward to the next semester. Deputy Vice Chancellor also ensured that voices of students will be taken into consideration in the future. But he refused to open the contract with UNIC to the public because it is confidential.

on 19/02/09, Kok Wei received a letter from the Disciplinary Board of UUM, charging him for “planning a protest in online media and released press statement regarding bus fare issue in UUM”. He was asked to attend disciplinary proceeding on 25/2 (Wednesday), 9.25am at Bilik Mesyuarat Sri Delima, Tingkat 5, Bangunan Canselori.

on 22/02/09 Kok Wei sent a letter asking for postpone, but has been rejected by the secretary of UUM Disciplinary Board without reading at the letter. Kok Wei wasn’t able to meet the Deputy Vice Chancellor because he is not in the office

I would like to highlight a main difference between Anwar’s attempt of Sept 16 to form a new government and what’s going on in Perak. Anwar said that he had the numbers. He did not say that he ‘bought them’ for a price.

Anwar only gave a call but no money was offered. In this Perak case, a statutory declaration made by a PKR member strongly alleges that money ranging in the millions was offered to Pakatan YBs in order to entice them to crossover.

In this sense, money is the main difference here. I doubt PKR offered any sum of money to BN reps to join Pakatan, as they don’t have access to huge federal funds, unlike BN which has millions of ringgit as the federal government of the day.

What has happened in Perak is cowardice to say the least. The people’s mandate had not been given to BN to rule Perak, but to Pakatan.

I don’t blame the Sultan of Perak..or may be yes, but Najib and his cronies for enticing politicians from Pakatan to join them. This is most shameful and cowardly in that they used a bait of millions of ringgit to lure them.

Were there any monies offered by Pakatan to any BN rep before Sept 16 to join Pakatan and form a new federal government?

Of course, it is ethically wrong to hop from one party to another. But my point here is this, who has the stronger bargaining power when it comes to enticing YBs to crossover?

Certainly it is the one with the most funds and assets accumulated over the past 50 years and that is none other than the corrupt BN regime led by Najib.

PAS candidate, Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut has won the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat by-election by a majority of 2,631 votes.

The rakyat has spoken and the message is loud and clear. Even after using all possible avenues to get votes, government machinery working around the clock , and perhaps million of dollars worth of promises, BN still lost the state. It is a clear message that the rakyat wants change.

And sadly, all BN could say was ... "In a democracy we respect the people's choice”. I guess that’s the only way to accept defeat.

Pakatan Rakyat, needs to buck up.... REMAIN UNITED. No more continuous quarrels, public squabbles, and bad comments. Stop bickering and solve the problems in private, between the walls of Pakatan. There should never be room for the opponents to exploit the weaknesses in the coalition.

Congratulations PAS and Pakatan Rakyat...!!!!!

My love hate relationship with space windows live blog has now come to at end. I have decided to start a blog in Blogspot as recommended by many.

I thought I could live with windows live blog because I am just an amateur blogger but when most of my friends from Bloggers Network Malaysia complained that they could not leave a comment in my http://asidburnmacykoh.spaces.live.com/ blog without logging into live or hotmail account first, I know this nonsense has to stop ASAP.....

I think html and ads is not possible in windows live blog, Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have tried to save my 8 months relationship with windows live blog but this is it. I can't take it anymore. I want CHANGE. This is probably the best decision I've ever made in my life(maybe..hehee).

Okay maybe I exaggerated a little. From today onwards, http://www.007malaya.blogspot.com/ is the official blog for MacyKoh wannabe, Mr Jordan Kee Yu Wah.
